"The stars at night, are big and bright, Deep in the Heart of Texas"

After months of wondering where our future would take us, we are happy to finally announce that we will be going back to my home, TEXAS!! Of course, i'm from Houston, not Austin but We're excited to get to know this incredible city!!
Adam applied and has been hired for an open position with his current company Myriad, at their Austin, TX location. We will be leaving very quickly, less than 2 weeks so we are anxious to figure out all the details. As excited as we are to be going to Texas, our hearts are definitely heavy having to leave the many family and friends that we have here in Utah. You all have been wonderful and we will miss you very much. But of course we will definitely be back to visit since we will be visiting Adam's family here. Thanks again everyone for your prayers on our behalf. After some very stressful months we are so happy to know what God's plan is for us.

Here comes Santa Clause!

We had a great time this weekend; It was the start of all our Christmas festivities for the month. We started out Saturday by going to our Church Christmas breakfast where Carter got to sit on Santa's lap. This was taken while we were waiting in line.

Last year Carter was a Pro (7 mos)! He loved sitting with Santa.

This year not so much, but I still kinda Love this picture!!

After our ward breakfast, we went to the Riches Family Christmas party where Carter got to do a gift swap with his cousins.

He was so good at waiting to open his gift until he was supposed to! We had a great time

On Sunday I wanted to make Cookies and I even had a little helper! Carter loved putting the ingredients in the bowl and loved the finished product even more.

We had such a great weekend! Adam and I even got to go see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert with Ryan and Jacque on Saturday. This week we're hoping to do some more Christmas things like Zoo Lights, Christmas Street and seeing the lights at Temple Square as long as we're not TOO cold!

Happy Halloween!

I know it's already November but here is what we did for Halloween. Our family decided to do a family costume. Adam was Batman, I was Cat Woman and Carter was Robin. The great thing was  that I was able to make all of our costumes myself and saved a bit of money. I'll show that on the next post :)

We first got ready for Halloween by carving pumpkins with Ryan and Jacque. I decided to do a monogram "J" and Adam went for a non-traditional yet awesome Santa pumpkin!

Ryan and Jacque did a dragon and the University of Utah symbol.
All the pumpkins turned out great!

Then on Halloween night we went over to Shane and Corrine's house to go trick or treating with the girls!

Leah was Princess Ariel

Eliza was a cute little witch and Lila was a little lady bug!

And Carter was Robin!

This was Carter's first time trick or treating and he was so excited!

He even went and knocked on the doors all on his own!

I think this is his new favorite time of the year!

It's beginning to look a lot like...Fall!

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year
and as soon as a hint of coolness was in the air I started making some of my favorite fall treats such as Pumpkin muffins, banana bread and Homemade cinnamon rolls (shown below). My new favorite invention is the bread maker- I used it to make the dough for the cinnamon rolls!

On Friday we decided to go out to a local pumpkin farm and enjoy some fall activities. Ryan, Jacque and Palmer joined us and we had a blast!

My fun finds on pinterest!

So I know it's been forever since I've posted anything ( about 2 years to be exact! ) but I've decided to remedy that now! In the past two years I've found two new loves- My son Carter and the website Pinterest. I know the latter sounds funny, but it's true. This site and the blogs featured have inspired me to do a lot of fun projects, try new foods and helped me  find new and exciting ways to spend my time! Here are just a few of my projects that I've done!
Fall letter blocks with modge-podge scrapbook paper

Painting clear jars and vases on the inside.

Menu organizer that is cheap and makes it easy to figure out dinner each week!

I've loved finding so many different projects to complete, and it's been amazing how much money I've saved by making these things myself.

Now to my other love, Carter Michael!
 He is the goofiest,
 sweetest
little buddy that I've ever had!

Adam and I have really enjoyed having him in our lives these last 18 months
even when he is a trouble maker!
 He's our superman!

So that's a little bit more about what's been going on in our life. Stay tuned for the funny stories, and exciting news that we would love to share with you! And if you want to know how to do any of the things I posted just let me know!
